Loan Committee member sought for Housing Affordability Program

NEWBURGH - The City of Newburgh has submitted the Housing Affordability Program to HUD as its proposed use of CDBG-R funding. The program will provide low cost loans or forgivable grants for the rehabilitation and/or redevelopment of properties in the city.

It is anticipated that underwriting activities will be undertaken under the monitoring of a Housing Loan Committee to be established by the City Council.  The Loan Committee would make the final determination on whether the application is approved.

The composition of the proposed Housing Loan Committee would include one community member at large.

Members of the public interested in participating in this committee are encouraged to submit a letter of interest which details their knowledge and interest.

Submit your letter of interest to Courtney Kain, 83 Broadway, City Hall or ckain@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov  no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
