Sugar Loaf company to put spotlight on inauguration

SUGAR LOAF – An Orange County company will be providing the “follow” spotlights to be used for President-elect Barak Obama’s inauguration next week.

Nine 3,000 watt stage lights will be leased from a distributor of Lycian Stage Lighting in Sugar Loaf. The lights will be used to brighten the stage for TV camera coverage.

The local company is thrilled to be part of history, said Director of Sales Steve Lerman.

“We’re very pleased, obviously, that it seems that whoever is in charge of the lighting requested our product specifically, and we are pleased to have an American made product attached to an event of such significance,” he said.

The actual lights will be provided by Toronto-based Christie Lites, a distributor for Lycian.

Lerman said they may also be used in pre- and post inaugural events the likes of concerts with Bruce Springsteen, U2, Garth Brooks, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow and others.
