Rockland man indicted on rape charge
NEW CITY – A 28-year-old
Spring Valley man has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on
charges of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Huygens “Tony” Merard of 36 South Madison Avenue was indicted
on charges of rape in the second degree, criminal sexual act in the second
degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said that on December 1, Merard was arrested
by Spring Valley Police for having sex with the underage girl inside his
Spring Valley apartment.
