Esopus man killed as he ran across a road
PORT EWEN – An Esopus man was killed Thursday when he was struck by a car as he ran across Broadway in Port Ewen.
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as William Kulchitsky, 58, of New Salem Road. Police said he ran across the road into the path of a vehicle driven by an 82-year-old man who is a resident of Port Ewen.
Kulchitsky was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he died from his injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
