WASHINGTON – Hudson Valley public schools will receive $131 million in direct school aid under the federal stimulus package.

The schools will receive an additional $94 million in special/IDEA funding and $37 million in title I grants.

Senator Charles Schumer Wednesday said the money will help stave off teacher layoffs and anticipated cuts in academic programs.
