Three charged in connection with kidnapping, beating

CATSKILL – Police have charged two men with kidnapping in the second degree, and robbery and burglary in the first degree, in connection with an incident in Leeds Monday night.

A third man was charged with violating conditions of his state parole stemming from a 2008 narcotic drug conviction, and a fourth is being sought.

When a Greene County deputy sheriff responded to a 911 call for assistance, he found four men beating another man who was duct taped and in the process of being abducted at 1275 County Route 23B in Leeds.

The suspects fled with they saw the police. Sheriff’s deputies, State Police, Special Ops Teams and K-9 units searched and early Tuesday morning, they rounded up three of the men.

Mel Lett, 32, of Coxsackie is currently on federal probation for drug related charges and was located in Columbia County.

Also arrested was Tyquan Hall, 30, of Catskill. The third man, Timothy Hall, 28, of Albany, was charged with violating parole.
