Car crash, fire leads to DWI arrest

BLOOMING GROVE – Police arrested a Blooming Grove man on a DWI charge after his vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.

State Police at Monroe responded to Peddler Hill Road in the Town of Blooming Grove for a property damage motor vehicle accident involving a minor car fire.  South Blooming Grove Fire Department extinguished the fire without incident.

Robert Oicle, 20, was found to be driving while intoxicated and failed to stop for a stop sign. He traveled across the road and struck a tree, troopers said.

Oicle was not injured. He was placed into custody, brought to the Monroe State Police Barracks where he breathed a .20 percent BAC.

He was released on uniform traffic tickets returnable in Blooming Grove Town Court.
