Prism Solar Tech to create more jobs

HIGHLAND – Prism Solar Technologies of Highland, a manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, will invest $5.8 million into the business and create 175 new jobs.

The State’s Empire State Development Corporation granted Prism a $600,000 Jobs Now grant.  The funding will allow the company to accelerate its staffing plan, said Prism Solar President Rick Lewandowski.

Prism Solar is an early-stage modular manufacturer of a proprietary holographic planar concentrator technology that uses holograms to concentrate light onto photovoltaic cells.

Prism’s technology is expected to lower costs and increase energy production by up to 40 percent.
