Three indicted for murder of musician

MONTICELLO – Three men accused of killing a Monticello man in June have been indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury.

Carl Williams, 25, an aspiring musician, was gunned down during a robbery near his home at Shore Garden Apartments on June 23.

The grand jury Wednesday indicted David Perkins, Jr., 16, of Woodbourne, Jaquis Lowery, 17, of Monticello and Lawrence Watson, 23, of Monticello. They were all charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and conspiracy, said Chief Assistant District Attorney and DA-elect James Farrell.

They were all arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail.

Under the charge of second-degree murder, all three suspects are charged with being equally responsible for causing Williams’ death, regardless of which one shot the victim in the head.
