| Man assaulted with beer bottles in serious condition |

MONROE – Police have one suspect in custody and are looking for another in connection with beer bottles assault on another man. The victim, Benjamin Pot, 29, of 18 North Main Street in Monroe, was listed in serious condition Saturday at Westchester Medical Center. An investigation by Monroe Police determined Pot had been assaulted with beer bottles by two other residents of the same building. He sustained blunt force trauma to the head and was unconscious when police arrived. One was taken into custody at the scene while another fled on foot before officers arrived. Arrested was Elvin Marquez-Hernandez, 20, of 18 North Main Street. He was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, and is in Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
