Green summit scheduled in Orange County

NEWBURGH – A number of organizations are banding together to conduct an Orange County “sustainability summit” in March.

The event will discuss the green movement and help businesses and homeowners understand how to become energy efficient.

“The purpose of the summit is to inform people in Orange County about the resources that exist to help businesses and individuals live and work sustainable,” said Orange County Chamber of Commerce President John D’Ambrosio. “We want to help people to connect the dots about how to be truly environmentally sustainable in terms of business, education, training and careers.”

The March 9, 2010 event will be held at the Kaplan math, Science and Technology Center at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh.

Aside from the chamber, other agencies hosting the event include MSMC, Orange County Association of realtors, Orange county Citizens Foundation, Orange County Partnership, Orange county Planning Department and SUNY Orange.
