Brewster man charged with knife attack

BREWSTER – It took over a half dozen police officers to subdue a man who allegedly attacked another man with a knife in Brewster, State Police said Thursday.

A trooper responded to a 911 call for a man with a knife threatening another man on East Main Street.

The officer learned that Oscar Pascual-Ceron, 40, of Brewster had begun arguing with the victim, pulled a knife from his waistband and attacked the victim, causing lacerations to his head.  Other officers arrived on the scene and it took State Police, Putnam County sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Village of Brewster Police to take him into custody.

Pascual-Ceron was charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing in the second degree.
