Woman killed while walking to her car from train station

PURDY’S – A Newtown, CT woman, who was crossing Route 116 from the Purdy’s Metro-North train station to her car, was struck and killed by an oncoming motorist.

Anna Werner, 57,  was struck by an SUV driven by a Mahopac man. She died of her injuries at Danbury Hospital, police said.

Interviews with the driver and witnesses at the scene said the driver had the right of way and that Werner had entered the roadway in front of him.  No charges were lodged against the driver.
