More flu vaccine clinics planned

MID-HUDSON – The Ulster County Health Department will hold one final seasonal flu and pneumococcal vaccination clinic on Thursday, December 10 in Esopus.

Pre-registration is required for county residents. Call-in dates are December 7, 8, and 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 845-340-1618.

Adult residents who are greatest risk for flu-related conditions are encouraged to receive the seasonal flu vaccine at the clinic.

The high-risk group includes those over 50, as well as adults 18 and over who have heart disease, chronic broncho-pulmonary disease, renal disease, diabetes mellitus, other chronic metabolic disorders, severe anemia and/or comprised immune functions, and others who are at risk of influenza-related conditions such as pregnant women.

The Orange County Health Department has scheduled H1N1 flu shot clinics in Goshen on Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8.

H1N1 vaccinations are available for both young people 10 to 24 and adults from 24 to 64, who have chronic medical conditions.

The clinics will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Goshen Health Department offices.
