Sullivan County government computers down

MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County government computer system was down for two days and the culprit was a “hardware and configuration related communication error between multiple redundant systems,” according to a memo from County Chief Information Officer Lorne Green.

The system crashed at 3:38 a.m. on Monday, November 30 and was restored at 11:13 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1.

The problem was not the result of a virus and the integrity of all systems and data was never in question or affected by the disruption, Green said.

The county’s network server and data services for the government center in Monticello were impacted by the outage.
