Internal affairs investigates Yonkers cop shooting

YONKERS – Police in Yonkers Monday identified the officer who shot and wounded a suspect when officers conducted a narcotics raid last Thursday as Detective Sgt. Robert Bock.

Bock is a 24 year veteran and a supervisor of the narcotics Unit.  He is currently on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in police involved shooting incidents.

The Internal Affairs division of the police department is conducting an investigation while an investigation is also underway by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

The wounded suspect, James Overmars, 21, of New Rochelle, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
