| Orange County marks Child Abuse Prevention Month with Pinwheels for Prevention project |
|
GOSHEN – Twenty pre-kindergarten children helped Orange County officials mark Child Abuse Prevention Month Monday by “planting” pinwheels in front of the County Government Center in Goshen. County Clerk Donna Benson said the pinwheel garden has special meaning during this month. “The pinwheels are representative of a carefree environment – when you blow them,” she said. “These little innocent children should live in a carefree, innocent home and community, not something that’s worrisome and that they are fearful.” Participating in the pinwheel garden and Child Abuse Prevention Month are the Orange County Youth Bureau, County Department of Social Services, Project Nevaeh Child Abuse Prevention Association and Prevent Child Abuse New York. |
