The gun was a stolen Glock that was taken in a recent burglary in Ruby.

A search of his car turned up another stolen handgun, a .357 magnum, a large amount of ammunition, several items of stolen jewelry, stolen coins and many other items believed to be proceeds from a number of burglaries and thefts.

Coutant was charged several counts of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal sale of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
