School bus rammed, all 21 kids onboard are OK

WALLKILL – A Pine Bush School District school bus that was stopped waiting to make a turn on the way to Crispell Middle School in Pine Bush was rammed from behind by a car driven by a man who told police he couldn’t stop in time.

All 21 kids onboard, ages 11 to 13, and the bus driver, were not injured.

The 7 a.m. accident occurred Thursday at Route 17K and Stone School House Road in the Town of Wallkill as the bus was stopped, preparing to turn left onto Stone School House Road, the Nissan sedan rammed into it.

Wallkill Town Police Chief Robert Hertman said the driver, Alejandro Pabon, of Harris, was charged with following too closely and excessive speed.
