Jazz lunch at Lasdon
Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Location: Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers
Listen to the sounds of cool jazz as you dine al fresco at Westchester's largest publicly owned arboretum during Lunch at Lasdon, to be held on Fridays, July 11, 18, and 25 and August 1.

From noon to 2 p.m. each week, you can listen to classic jazz favorites on the patio of the Lasdon gift shop. Visitors can bring their own lunch or reserve a delicious box lunch in advance. Refreshments will also be for sale throughout the concert. A limited number of tables are available on the patio, or visitors can bring a blanket for seating on the lawn and enjoy a spectacular view of the Muscoot Reservoir.

Bethel Summer Farmers' Market
Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Location: Corner of Hurd and West Shore Roads in Bethel, NY
Fresh produce, exotic potatoes, locally-produced wine and cheese are among the vegetables and farm products that form the basis of the new Bethel Summer Farmers Market on Saturdays in July and August. It's located at the site of the "Original Woodstock Festival" and "Day in the Garden Concerts."

The market will be open on the seven Saturdays between July 5 and August 16. Admission and parking are free.

Farm booths will be located under a tent across the road from the festival monument area, with parking adjacent to the vending area. No pets are allowed.

Accident Prevention Course
Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Location: Newburgh Free Academy 201 Fullerton Ave, Newburgh
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District will host a six-hour Accident Prevention Course on Monday, August 4 and Wednesday August 6. The program, sponsored by the National Traffic Safety Institute, is designed to offer people tips on defensive driving and accident prevention techniques.

This program makes a person eligible for a 10% reduction on the liability portion, as well as the collision portion, of their car insurance premium each year for three years. It also removed up to four points from a person's license. A person must attend both night sessions to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Fishkill Creek Watershed Committee

Monthly meeting, every first Monday of the month.

Our mission is to encourage individuals and entities, both public and private, to work for the protection of the natural environment within the Fishkill Creek Watershed.

The watershed covers over 190 square miles from Millbrook to Beacon.

Empire Farm Days bus trip
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County has organized a day trip to the 2003 Empire Farm Days on August 6, 2003. The bus will departing Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County 1 Ashley Avenue in Middletown, NY at 7:00AM and
leave the Expo at 5:00PM. Registration is $35.00 per person and is due by July 18, 2003.

The Empire Farm Days is a 3-day outdoor Agricultural Exposition held in the Finger Lakes community of Seneca Falls. It features over 600 exhibitors and 100 acres of agricultural displays. Additionally there are field demonstrations, livestock
handling demonstrations and speakers on various agriculture related topics.

Golf outing
Location: Tarry Brae Golf Course in South Fallsburg
The Pine Bush, Middletown and Monticello Academies of Finance are sponsoring a golf tournament on August 8th. This fundraiser will benefit all three academies. There will be prizes, contests and plenty of fun.

Golf fees are $100.00 per golfer which includes greens fees, cart, bucket of balls for range, lunch, dinner, trophies and raffle.

Fireflies at Farm

SUNY Ulster adult orientation

Ulster County Community College will hold orientation sessions for adult students on Tuesday, July 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, August 20, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. In advance of the start of fall classes on August 25, students will learn about services available in financial aid, tutoring, childcare and other accommodations, as well as opportunities for career and transfer counseling. "One World, One Heart" music fest
Location: Performing Arts Center in Bethel, NY
Vermont-based ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry's has reached an agreement with the Gerry Foundation to hold its annual "One World, One Heart" music festival on August 23 and 24 at the future home of the Performing Arts Center in Bethel, NY. This is the site of the original "Woodstock Festival" in 1969 and "Day in the Garden Concerts" in 1998 and 1999.

A list of performers for the official celebration of the company's 25th birthday will be announced shortly.

Golf Tournament to benefit The Interactive Museum

The Interactive Museum is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Mary B. Diana golf tournament held on Monday, August 25. The day begins with registration/lunch at 11:00 AM , Shotgun/Putting Contest/Scramble at 12:30PM and dinner at 6PM.
