The Saints of Swing
Location: Sullivan County Community College's Seelig Theatre

The Saints of Swing is an extraordinary collective of some of the Tri-state area's finest performers. Providing a fresh and exciting experience in art and entertainment, The Saints of Swing specialize in eclectic and electric selections of foot-tappin' swing classics, hot and cool jazz served up however you like it - from spicy New Orleans Dixieland style (complete with a dancin' tuba player!) to elegant New York City sizzlers, plus Motown, R&B, ballroom favorites and even 1,000,000-watt gospel, Latin, and Klezmer.

The Saints of Swing is a seven-piece ensemble featuring the vocalist, Rene Bailey, who has performed with such stars as Louis Armstrong, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Peg Leg Bates and Paul Anka. They are led by David Winograd on tuba/bass and Mike Rosler on trumpet. Other regular members of the ensemble include Dale Demarco on sax/clarinet; Ken Foy, trombone; Mike Kull, piano; and Gene Randolph, drums

Tickets for all performances of the Summer 2003 series at the Seelig Theatre are $15 general admission, $12 seniors, students, and staff. Group rates are also available. Breast cancer detection seminar
Time: 6:30pm
Location: ORMC's Community Health Education Center, 110 Crystal Run Road, Middletown
Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC) will provide a free educational seminar in July, titled "Breast Cancer: Detection & Awareness." Susan Hopper, RN, BSN,OCN of the American Cancer Society and Montefiore hospital will demonstrate how breast self-exams, performed consistently and correctly, in conjunction with annual clinical breast exams by a physician and yearly mammograms, are the keys to finding breast cancer early, when it's at its most treatable stages.

Joining Ms. Hopper will be Penny Lynch, R.T.R.M., Supervisor of ORMC Mammography, Bone Density and the Ray W. Moody, M.D. Breast Center. Ms. Lynch will discuss the value of annual mammograms, and their role in the detection of breast cancer.
