Neil Simon's "The Sunshine Boys"
Location: Sullivan County Community College's Seelig Theatre
Thursday, July 24 - 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26 - 8 p.m.

The story of the play is a familiar one, especially to the fans of the movie version that starred Walter Matthau and George Burns. An ex-vaudeville team, Al Lewis and Willie Clark, (a.k.a. Lewis and Clark) in spite of performing together for 43 years, hate each other. At the beginning of the play, it has been 11 years since they last played together and a major TV network wants them to re-enact their most famous routine. Persuading them to do so is not easy and their mutual crankiness produces both hilarious and heartwarming moments.

"The Sunshine Boys" will feature two veterans of the Sullivan County stage, Mike Gastwirth of Liberty as Al Lewis and Jack Leshner of Monticello as Willie Clark. Supporting players include Albie Beluli of Grahamsville as Willie's nephew Ben, Pamela Bright of Napanoch as the nurse and Janna Worden of Grahamsville as the TV nurse. Stage direction and set design are by Carol Montana of Grahamsville, DeLois "Cookie" House of Ellenville is stage manager, Ken Walter of Grahamsville is master carpenter and P.J. Yacino of Narrowsburg is lighting designer.

Tickets for all performances of the Summer 2003 series at the Seelig Theatre are $15 general admission, $12 seniors, students, and staff. Group rates are also available. For information or to purchase tickets, call (845) 434-5750, 4304 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday or visit the SCCC website at www.sullivan.suny.edu.
