Transportation planning - public session
Location: Westchester County Center, Room A, 198 Central Avenue in White Plains
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) will hold two public listening sessions for the Lower Hudson Valley Region.

Session 1 will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 pm
Session 2 from 7 to 9 pm.

The sessions are part of a series of meetings being held to gather suggestions for the use of Federal funding for transportation planning activities in New York City, Long Island and the Lower Hudson Valley. Rockland County is one of NYMTC's member counties within the Mid-Hudson South Region, along with Putnam and Westchester Counties.

One of NYMTC's responsibilities is for the coordinated use of Federal funding for regional transportation planning activities. To access these funds, NYMTC's members must annually adopt a United Planning Work Program - a multi-year planning prospectus which describes the activities to be undertaken in a given fiscal year. The Work Program outlines a regional planning agenda of issues and potential solutions for further study. The information gathered from the listening sessions will provide the foundation for developing that planning prospectus, which in turn guides staff at NYMTC and its member agencies.

Further information on the Unified Planning & Work Program is available on NYMTC's website: www.nymtc.org. For further information on the July 16th Listening Session, contact Steve Hausch at NYMTC at 718-482-7512 or Patrick Gerdin at Rockland County Planning at 845-364-3231.
