Healthy eating program
Time: 12:00pm
Location: Sharon Hospital Good Neighbors building on Low Road in Sharon, CT
Every child remembers their mother saying "Drink your milk so you can grow big and strong." Calcium intake is extremely important no matter how old a person is. On Tuesday, July 15, Sharon Hospital will present Nutrition and the Importance of Calcium, an afternoon lecture in the Brown Bag Lunch and Learn series. This program is part of the hospital's community health program and includes a presentation, along with an opportunity for questions.

Laura Murray, RD, CDN, clinical nutrition manager at Sharon Hospital, is the guest speaker. As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, Laura is responsible for the nutritional care of in-patients and offers nutritional counseling on an out-patient basis.

Master Gardener Program
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Newburgh Free Library
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County through their Master Gardener program is continuing the Spring Gardening Series on May 20th, June 17th and July 14th . There is no fee for this series and it will be presented in English and Spanish.

The series topics will include: Gardening For Children, Seed Starting, Where and When To Plant, Ease Of Growing Perennials and Vegetables and Basic Flower Arranging. Hands on sessions and interactive conversations make this a great series to attend for amateurs as well as experienced gardeners.
