4-H Summer Fair
Time: 11:00am - 4:00pm
Location: Muscoot Farm in Somers
Celebrate summer and learn about many achievements of local youth at the 4-H Summer Fair, which features a variety of exhibits, craft vendors, music and an old-fashioned Cake Walk.

The event is presented by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Westchester County.

The theme of this year's fair is "4-H: Believe in Youth for a Better Tomorrow" and will include environmental exhibits and demonstrations.

The fair will highlight projects by Westchester young people, ranging in age from 5 to 19. The projects include animal grooming, conservation, photography, woodworking and much more. All projects will be evaluated and achievement ribbons will be awarded.



Eighth Annual Latin American Festival
Time: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Stray Cats and Dog Days Block Party
Time: 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Abeel Street between Wurts and Hone, Kingston, NY
A fundraising and informational event. Fund recipients will include:
UCSPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic
Cedar Hill Animal Sanctuary & Rescue
AWAN
Animal Emergency Fund

Many Animal Rescue groups will be there to share stories and information plus photos of potenial adoption companion animals with the public.

Trainers, groomers, agility professionals will be showing their stuff and giving you tips and tricks on happy, healthy pets.

We're having a Doggie Walkthrough Wash.

Advice and information on low cost spay/neuter programs will be available as well as how to help with the feral cat situation in your neighborhood.

Low cost Rabies vaccination clinic will be on-site from 1pm to 3pm.

Dogs must be leashed, cats must be in carriers.

SUNY Orange Admissions Information
Time: 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Lower atrium in front of JC Penney at the Galleria Mall at Crystal Run
SUNY Orange will have a representative available at the Galleria Mall at Crystal Run near Middletown on Sunday, July 13 to give shoppers a chance to learn more about the college.

Irish Heritage Day
Time: 1:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: Ridge Road Park in Hartsdale
The music, dancing, and arts and crafts of Ireland will come to the heart of Westchester during the annual Irish Heritage Day celebration on Sunday, July 13.

The daylong entertainment program will feature guitarist Tim Harte who will perform a variety of tunes, including Irish ballads, as well as country and pop songs. The program will also feature the Celtic Justice Band, the Guss Hayes Band, Shilelagh Law, the Chris Brown Band and a variety of traditional Irish dancers in colorful costume. In addition, the Westchester Firefighters Emerald Society Pipes and Drums will bring the uplifting music of the bagpipes to the festival, and there'll be a performance by the O'Rourke Irish Dancers.

Hungry festival-goers can enjoy a wide variety of traditional foods available for sale, including corned beef and cabbage and soda bread. Memorabilia, from tees-shirts to handcrafted jewelry, will be available for purchase. Children's activities will include face painting by Noelle Clancy.

Admission is $5 per adult or $10 per car. Children under 14 are admitted free. Seating is informal; bring blankets or chairs for seating on the lawn. The festival will be held rain or shine. No coolers will be allowed at the festival.



Slavic Heritage Festival
Time: 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Location: Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers
The sights and sounds of a traditional Slavonian village will fill the air at the annual Slavic Heritage Festival, Sunday.

The event will include lively dance performances, music performed live by a Slovak band, along with a variety of crafts and delicious, authentic foods.

Dressed in colorful authentic costumes, the award-winning Limbora-Slovak Folk Ensemble will sing and dance to traditional Slovak folk songs, as they depict dancing styles particular to certain Slavonian villages. The ensemble also incorporates the "fujara," or the shepherd whistle flute, into their unique performance.

A Slovak band will provide lively traditional Polish, Ukrainian and Slovak music from the heart of Eastern Europe during the event.

Hungry festival-goers can enjoy a variety of traditional Slavic foods available for purchase, including pierogies, simmering kielbasi sandwiches, steaming leaves of holupki and delicious goulash. Vendors will sell a variety of products including arts and crafts and fine crystal.

Admission and parking is free. In the event of rain, the festival will be held indoors at Holy Trinity Hall at Walnut and Trinity streets in Yonkers.
