Mark Morganelli jazz concert
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla
Kick off the long Independence Day weekend with the cool jazz sounds of Mark Morganelli and the Jazz Forum All-Stars and other great jazz groups who will perform at the Kensico Dam Music Fest on Thursday, July 3.

The concert is sponsored by JPMorganChase and co-sponsored by MasterCard, Budweiser and Delphi Consulting Group, Inc. It is presented by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The Journal News, the Westchester Arts Council and the New York State Council on the Arts provide additional support. The show is produced by Jazz Forum Arts.

Following the concert there will be a glittering fireworks display.

Kensico Dam Plaza will open at 5 p.m. for pre-concert picnicking. Seating is informal; concert-goers should bring blankets or folding chairs. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand. Free parking will be available, but parking is limited and car-pooling is recommended. The plaza is accessible to the disabled with assistance. The concert will be held rain or shine.

Fireworks at Rye Playland

Location: Rye Playland, Rye, New York
Playland in Rye will celebrate the Independence Day holiday with a full schedule of spectacular fireworks displays on three evenings.

The shows are set for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, July 2 through 4, and will all begin at 9:15 p.m.

After the holiday fireworks displays, fireworks shows will also take place every Wednesday and Friday evening at 9:15 p.m. through August 29, weather permitting.
