Westchester veterans' ID card sign-up
Location: Veterans' Service Agency, 112 East Post Road, 4th floor, Room 442, White Plains
The Veterans Service Agency in conjunction with the Bronx VA Medical Center is sponsoring the "VIC" (veteran id card) day on Thursday, June 26th, at the agency's office. The cards cards that could make them eligible for a variety of benefits including services at VA hospitals.

To receive an ID card, veterans should bring a copy of their (DD214) separation papers to the Veterans Service Agency office between 11 a.m. and 12 noon, or 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on June 26th. For more information, contact the Veterans Service Agency at 914-995-2145/6.

American Red Cross Citizen Of Distinction Gala Dinner

Location: Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor
On June 26, the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding its annual Citizen Of Distinction Gala Dinner. The honorees this year are Renee McCabe, director of marketing at Ellenville National Bank, Senator William Larkin of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and James Moss.

The Orange County Citizen(s) of Distinction Award presented by the American Red Cross is designed to recognize individuals whose commitment, leadership and good standing serve as examples to others in the Orange County community. Honorees are identified and approached by the event's Benefit Committee and presented with awards during a gala reception. The event serves as a prime opportunity for prominent Orange County officials and representatives to recognize these individuals and maximize the multitude of promotional opportunities available during the event.

There will be a cocktail hour and silent auction at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $125 per person.

Westchester County Urban County Consortium
Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location: Croton-on-Hudson Village Hall, One Van Wyck Street
Two meetings will be held to give the public an opportunity to comment on the needs for the Westchester County Consortium for the administration of federal grant programs for inclusion in the FY 2004-2008 Consolidated Plan. These programs include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and HOME programs. The public hearings will be held:
